Gerry and Lori Stumm, New Home

The best investment in our new home was not in the location, or the architect, or the materials –it was in the BUILDER!

Building a custom home on a 40’ x 50’ lot is challenging. Building it from 1000 miles away, —  is crazy!

We grew up in Ocean City, but moved with our three children to Florida in 1980. When the opportunity to rebuild our family’s 100 year old vacation home presented itself in 2008, we had serious concerns about overseeing the project from so far away. We interviewed twelve prospective builders!  Some were eliminated by the end of the interview; others were strong candidates with excellent credentials; but only one stood out above the rest. He was humble, yet exuded confidence and pride in the quality of his work. After touring his homes and seeing his projects firsthand, we knew the clear choice was Jim Hamilton.

Here are just a few of the qualities we appreciate about Jim:

  • His high standard of excellence and attention to detail
  • His ability to do every job in the building process from framing to finish-work
  • His “no problem” attitude in handling any issues or changes that arise
  • His accessibility and frequent updates during every phase of the project
  • His willingness to go above and beyond by handling appointments and personal deliveries for us in our absence

Jim’s knowledge of the best sub-contractors, the highest quality materials and best suppliers in the area was invaluable. We had our choice of materials and price points throughout the project. Because of Jim, we now enjoy a dream house with our children, grandchildren, family and friends. We would recommend Jim Hamilton to anyone.  He is a man of honor and integrity. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed by using Jim for any construction project. We would never build, re-model or renovate, in or near Ocean City, without him.

Dr. William Croff, Renovations

A good friend of mine recommended Jim to us, and I first contacted him to repair our deck. He was easy to get a hold of, always prompt for our meetings, and stuck close to the work schedule. I was impressed by his manner and professionalism.

A later project involved entirely reconstructing our master bathroom. Jim took it down to the bare studs and reproduced what became a beautiful master bathroom. All of this was done on time and in budget.

Jim is a great communicator, presenting up front all options and costs, with fair estimates. At the day’s end, he cleans the work sites, leaving everything neat and in order.

Tom and Pat Galligher, New Home

I met Jim Hamilton in the spring of 1998, at which time I was looking for a lot on which to build a summer home. After several years of searching, a property became available in Ocean City. The old home was torn down and Jim began my project with an empty lot. Jim listened carefully to our design ideas, drew the plans for the project and led the construction. What so impressed me was his attention to detail and how the entire project proceeded so smoothly without a hitch. When my home was completed, it was delivered impeccably clean and ready for me to move in. The fit and finish of all aspects of our new home was perfect in every way … a hard statement to make when so many contractors cut corners and deliver an inferior product. I have built several projects and it has become very clear that Jim Hamilton’s construction is the standard by which all others are judged.

Mrs. Peggy Osborne, Ongoing Renovations

Jim started working at our home, Osborne’s Inn, about thirty-five years ago. He spent many months enhancing the property—room by room. Our website has pictures of the two new decks that he added last year. Jim does quality work, which is what everyone says about the jobs he has done. We couldn’t find a more caring and dedicated person to be there for the many jobs we had. He loves his customers. He loves Ocean City.

Mrs. Dorothy McGee, New Home

I met Jim in 2007 when my husband and I first decided to build our house. Jim answered all of our questions and we contracted him for everything—from framing and plumbing, to electricity. Jim knew everybody and connected me with a team who I could trust. I met all the workers on-scene, and I was very comfortable with them. Today, the house is sturdy, comfortable and warm with a beautiful view.
